A plate of Cookies

I made cookies that turned out perfectly for the first time since moving to Utah 8 years ago!!! Thank you, thank you very much! I was so excited that they turned out so I decided to take some to our new neighbors(we just moved so everyone is a new neighbor) with Little Dude in tow (Emma was sleeping). We set out and knocked on the door. Our neighbor answered and then burst into tears when she saw the cookies, and then explained that she had been praying to know that someone love her and would show her kindness today. (Long story but they had a bad night and spent most of it in the ER with their son)So we talked for a few minutes and hugged and then (just like me) I remembered that I had another batch of cookies in the oven and I ran home with Dude. When I got home, Emma was awake, the cookies were burnt and I had an overwhelming realization that my prayers had been answered too. I pray every day that I can listen and follow the promptings of the spirit. Today it happened and I didnt even realize it. Emma took an unusual nap in the later afternoon which gave me TIME...I never have time to do anything that takes more than 15 minutes, but today I did. And seriously, I can't bake since moving to Utah, but today I had the urge, I followed a recipe and ta-da! amazing cookies. And then I left my house in my grubbies (not something I like to do)and just delivered cookies. And 2 prayers were answered with a plate of cookies...Heavenly Father knows us and loves us and uses us to take care of his children. What a great afternoon...

Our life has been super fast paced recently. We had Emma,got colic, figured out she does WAY better on Soy...have started sleeping again...yay!!! We went to the beach in Forida for a week vacation and then came home. We got home Sunday, found a 3 bedroom house for rent on Tuesday night, went and looked at it, and loved it! We signed the papers Wednesday and moved entirely on Saturday...crazy...just an update...we will post pictures soon!

Life with two is now great. I am no longer sick, my hormones are back to normal (well as normal as a woman's can be) and my baby is starting to sleep through the night. (only 2 quick feedings) We have developed a pattern during the day and life is great. We are back to normal around our house. The colic is diminishing...hallelujah! Thanks for everyone's advice and support. It was much needed!!! I can't imagine life without her. So, Lisa, life is good with 2! I just had to survive the first month or so. I wish we lived closer too...maybe someday! Love you...give our love to John and Miss Mia and Baby girl...
On another note, Robbie and I went to the allergist on Thursday. He has NO allergy to peanuts...weird. But the allergist says that he had a 'reaction' to the peanuts but nothing life threatening. His advice was to keep eating small amounts of peanuts every week to keep his body producing the antibodies against the peanuts. But he is EXTREMELY allergic to three types of grasses and the weed, Russian Thistle. His back swelled up where he was pricked and he got hives, again. So he got put on a steroid nasal spray, and Claratin and Zyrtec...from May until the 1st hard frost in October. Yay for modern technology!

So, blessings continue to abound for us. We don't have room to receive them.

Life with 2

We have reached the 5 week mark with our little girl. And in truth it has been the longest 5 weeks of my life. I have just have a couple words to sum up the past month or so.
1) CRYING
2) Mastitis (worst pain of my life)
3) CRYING
4) No Sleep (b/c of the crying)
5) 3am drives in the car with a screaming baby

Yup, I have a colicky baby. She is precious during the day, but come night our sweet angel turns into a screaming machine. We have been using gripe water, kiddie call, and warm baths, plus swaddling and a white noise thing. We also switched to formula to see if that would help. It has been a little better. So, instead of 8 hours of screaming we have 2 or 3 of serious fussing/crying.She is also a baby that absolutely does not want to be put down...EVER.But sometimes it has to be done. So, I figure we have about 8 or 9 more weeks of this and then she should be growing out of it...right? Any suggestions from you moms out there? We will try just about anything.
On the up side Little Dude has been AMAZING!!! HE takes everything in stride. He sleeps through all the crying and has found a new love for the movie CARS. We watch it at least 2 times a day...no kidding. I can now recite the movie with no problems.

On another note...my sweet husband went to a SL BEE'S baseball game Saturday night and ate an extreme amount of peanuts. He came home covered in hives....so we spent Sunday pumping him full of Benadryl and letting him sleep it off. He is still covered today..so I am searching for a good allergist in the area...wish us luck!

Welcome Miss Emma Grace

I am a mommy again! What a blessing! C-section #2 proved to be just as amazing as #1. Rob and I and a slew of family members welcomed our sweet little Emma into our lives on Tuesday morning at 8:07am. She weighed in at a startling 7lbs 14oz...(a lot smaller than was thought, but I am not complaining) She is 19 inches long and just perfect. She has beautiful blonde hair and makes the sweetest noises. Rob has been a trooper and slept on the pull out chair thing for 2 nights now. He is the best daddy. Right now, he and Emma are curled up in the chair fast asleep together. Little Dude is adjusting well. He visits all day long and just wants to hold her as much as possible. Yay for big brothers! We blessed this sweet little girl last night and it was a beautiful and touching blessing. Thank you to the family that was able to attend. It meant alot to us to have you all here. Thank you John and Lisa for the beautiful flowers you sent and to Mom as well for her sweet gifts. And to my parents for all their support and love, we could not have done any of this with out all of you! I am also grateful to all of Emma's grandparents who were there to watch her be born. Thanks for getting up super early to come and make memories with us. I will post more pictures as soon as I get home and settled.
